Marketing to EDA Engineers in Turbulent Times - EDN Worldwide Event
Electronics has changed forever. The design process has changed, largely due to chip and system
complexity, necessitating changes in the optimal time and ways vendors market to design engineers.
EDN executives explain how EDN has adapted to this new world, and suggest how
EDA vendors can also reach their target market.

U.S. Export Regulations. Are you in Export Compliance?
US export regulations apply regardless of how US technology is transferred
to a foreign person or company. This seminar provides an overview of the regulations;
gives a basic understanding of how the regulations apply to technology companies;
and shows where to find the resources
to build a compliance program.
Speaker: Larry Disenhof, Group Director
of Export Compliance, Cadence Design Systems, and Chairman of the EDA Consortium
Export Committee.

Productivity
Impact Luncheon: Changing the Dialogue Between Engineers and ManagementJune
2007- Engineers and engineering management
can work together to foster improvement by having frank, substantive conversations
about factors affecting engineering productivity. Long term productivity gains
happen when organizations make a conscious effort to retool their engineers and
reward process improvements. The event examined the factors affecting engineering
productivity while presenting a
video parody, MIT
research, practical examples, and information about a new FSA
benchmarking study.
Presentations:
(A
video of the entire Productivity Impact Luncheon will be available soon.)

advanced chips, and the other of technical executives from companies in the TSMC
design ecosystem - providers of EDA design tools, libraries and IP, and design
services.

EDA Marketing Forum: Editorial Coverage: The Times They Are A-changingJune
2007- The EDA trade press is undergoing
radical changes. We've gone from "print only" to "print and Web"
and now to many instances of "Web only." New Web vehicles and tools
are creating new ways of pulling news content, new ways of pushing news content,
and thinner print publications. Digital news is now portable via pagers, cell
phones and PDAs. The role of the press release has changed with the use of SEO
(search engine optimization), podcasting, and RSS (Really Simple Syndication).

DATE
2006 Panel: Piracy - A Global Threat to EDA and IP March
2006 - It
is estimated that 36% of the worlds software is pirated. With the continuing
globalization of EDA software usage, IP design reuse, and technology advances
that enables a worldwide virtual design network, the potential for piracy of software
and IP increases. This panel will elicit and discuss the challenges facing the
EDA, IP and design community as it relates to piracy, and talk about what can
be done to address or mitigate the issues raised. Moderator:
