- Save stock incentives letter writing campaign results in over 800 letters to legislators and helps block FASB legislation
- MSS expanded to include 50 new Semiconductor IP (SIP) categories, reports revenue of $4.2B for 2003

- EDA Consortium lobbies to simplify international export regulation
- Richard Newton, Ph.D. receives Phil Kaufman Award

- EDA Consortium produces a DVD, "EDA Where Electronics Begins". The DVD is in four languages - English, German, French and Japanese.
- A new board of directors is elected in May and Walden C. Rhines, Chairman & CEO, Mentor Graphics, is voted chairman.
- Design Achievement Award presented to Philips.
- Ron Rohrer, Ph.D. receives the Phil Kaufman Award

- EDA Consortium launches industry branding campaign at DATE in Europe & DAC in US.
- Design Achievement Award presented to SONY and SANYO.
- Dr. Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli receives the Phil Kaufman Award.
- EDA Consortium signs an "In Cooperation Agreement" with the EDS Fair in Japan.

- Aart de Geus, CEO and chairman of the board, Synopsys, elected chairman.
- EDA Consortium co-sponsors DATE.
- EDA Consortium publishes its first Standards Funding Report. Members endorse Spine 99.
- MSS reports record revenue of $3.2 billion for 1998.
- Ernest Kuh receives Phil Kaufman Award.
- First Design Achievement Awards presented to Acuson, Micronas Intermetall GmbH and Intrinsix.

- EDAC becomes EDA Consortium.
- MSS reports $2.7 billion in EDA and Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) revenue.
- James Solomon receives Phil Kaufman Award.
1996
- Members vote to establish all-CEO board of directors.
- Wally Rhines, president & CEO, Mentor Graphics, elected chairman.
- Pamela Parrish becomes EDAC’s first full time employee as Executive Director .

- Carver Mead receives Phil Kaufman Award.

- EDAC forms EDA Industry Council with the CAD Frameworks Initiative (CFI).
- www.edac.org web site launched.

- Alan Hanover, president & CEO, Viewlogic, elected Chairman.
- MSS first published. EDAC/Needham Stock Index introduced.
- Herman Gummel presented with first Phil Kaufman award.

- EDAC incorporates and becomes DAC co-sponsor.
1991
- Joe Costello, president & CEO, Cadence Design Systems, succeeds Jim Hamock as chairman.
1990
- Jim Hamock assumes the position of chairman.
- Donna Fritz (Walden) becomes EDAC’s 1st Executive Director. Donna and her agency staff supported EDAC for the next seven years.
1989
- Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC) is formed. First officers are elected.
